So... for those of you who read and buy books, what makes you choose the books you read/buy? Reviews? Word of mouth? Author reputation and credentials? Author previous work? Where it's placed in the bookstore? The cover? The publisher? The genre?

I usually find books the following way: Bookclub, Reviews in Essence magazine and book displays in various bookstores, author's previous work and work of mouth. All of the above can really do alot to get me pumped about reading a book.
